Kev Munday

Kev Munday
Kev Munday has been expressing himself visually on all surfaces within reach from an early age. Amongst his obscure influences he lists aboriginal art, fortune cookie poetry and travelling amusement rides. Growing up in the cultural wasteland of Basingstoke where inspiration is scarce, Kev was visually awoken by studying old punk album art and skate magazines, as well as the work of artists such as Keith Haring, Andy Howell and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Kev Munday artwork has been exhibited in gallery shows from Tokyo to Berlin, Barcelona to Philadelphia. His designs have adorned merchandise the world over, appearing on literally thousands of t-shirts through his clothing label UnderTheHat, as well as work for brands such as Fracture Skateboards and Avalaan.
Kev has appeared alongside his art in dozens of publications including The Independent, Front, Hip Hop Connection, Vice and Knowledge Magazine. His painting skills have earned him commissions from the likes of Walt Disney, Fabric Nightclub, Route One and Guitar Hero.
Having recently held his first London solo show titled 'Making It Up As I Go Along' on the prestigious Covent Garden High-street, Kev Munday is looking forward to many more years of watching paint dry.
